Class 4 ASA Laser Therapy

The laser can radically speed up your recovery time and get you back to doing what you love to do.

Laser uses 2 different wavelengths of light sending focused or pulsed photons to penetrate the tissues which have a direct effect on your energy generating mitochondrial cells. This light accelerates your body’s natural healing responses to reduce pain, spasm and swelling.

How soon will I feel the benefits?

Some patients  report an instant and noticeable reduction in pain, the healing process begins immediately. For example the laser can switch of a spasm in the first treatment.

How many sessions will I need?

The number of treatments depends largely on your general health and the longevity and severity of the condition. Some patients like to try a single session and experience the benefit and then book a course of treatments. The average is 4 to 6 delivered over a two week period you can have a top up whenever you like for chronic arthritic conditions.

Is it painful? What is it like?

Not not at all! It’s a bit like having an ultrasound it feels therapeutic and there is not heating of tissue. Each session lasts about 10-15 minutes.

Is it expensive?

As part of a Physiotherapy, Osteopathy, Podiatry or Acupuncture appointment slot it is at an additional cost of £15 to your appointment. If you have booked a stand alone appointment it is £55 which reduces if you buy a package of treatment.

Who will conduct the therapy?

The first one will always be completed by one of our health professionals who will then prescribe your treatment and the lasers settings, subsequent treatments may on occasion be conducted by a trained laser operator working under our health professionals supervision and prescription.

Are there any exemptions?

There are few circumstances in which you won’t be able to be treated:
  • pregnancy
  • active cancer
  • growth plates in children’s bones
  • patients with pacemakers
